The lady next to me finished her workout when I had about 12 minutes left on mine. I looked over and she had burned 1445 calories in 60 minutes. I was floored! I asked her how she did that. She said she just messed around with the incline and resistance. So that's what I did. I lowered the resistance from 17 to 12 and raised the incline from 5 to 9. And I could see a difference in my calories burned. Usually in a 30 m workout, I burn around 400 calories. But today, at less than half way to go, I changed things a bit and I burned 460 calories. I've never burned that much in 30 minutes. So I'm going to try this "increase incline, lower resistance" thing for a while and see if I can burn more calories without killing myself.

First Post
This is a story of a girl trying to lose weight. That girl is me. I am going to post about my exercising, weight and maybe some of what I eat.
I am 5' 2", 35 years old. I have 3 kids - ages 11, 9 and 6. I've also had 2 miscarriages after my youngest child was born.
In November 2011, I joined a gym and started working out. And it actually not as bad as I thought it would be. I didn't take a picture of me then, but I have one of me today. However, not much, if anything, has changed. You'll see why when you keep reading.
I've keep track of my weight (sort of)
On 11-16-11 I weighed 183.5 lbs - weighed in the afternoon
On 11-22-11 I weighed 183.0 lbs - weighed at noon, nude
On 11-28-11 I weighed 182.5 lbs - 9:15 AM nude
On 03-09-12 1 weighed 175.5 lbs - 9:00 with clothes
On 03-21-12 I weighed 180.0 lbs - 11:00 nude
I also keep track of the days that I work out, how long I work out and how many calories the machine says I've burned. But instead of going back to November, I'll just start with the first of March.
